Infant Abduction Prevention
RFID Baby Tagging solutions and Infant Protection systems from SEDCO have been specifically designed to prevent babies or infants from being removed from a post natal ward without authorisation.
Each baby wears a small tag around the ankle that contains a tiny radio transmitter. Once activated the RFID tag sends a message called a "presence signal" every 1.4 seconds to indicate that it is functioning properly. These messages are monitored by a dedicated PC, so that RFID tags are supervised continuously.
The presence signal provides the system with information about the RFID tag, and will generate an alert if the signal is lost, a different alert for a low battery and an alarm when a strap is tampered with. Each facility has a designated "safe area," usually the maternity ward, infants may be moved freely within this area, at all times. All exits from the safe area are monitored using an "Alarm portal" reader. As soon as a tag comes near an exit, an alarm occurs showing the specific RFID tag, the name of the infant and the location. As long as the infant is wearing an active SEDtag, he or she cannot be passed through a monitored exit undetected. And with the special tamper-proof strap, an alarm immediately occurs if anyone attempts to cut or unfasten the strap from the RFID tag. When required the infant can be taken outside the safe area. A number of safety features are built in. The system has a "sign out" procedure, initiated locally at the dedicated PC, whereby staff can sign out specific infants. Sign outs are strictly controlled through the use of passwords. The identity of the person authorising the sign out is recorded in the database of the PC. Similar precautions apply when discharging infants.
The SEDtag RFID system is an advanced electronic system which when utilised within a planned security regime will prevent infant abduction. Hospitals are selecting SEDtag for its security, flexibility, low maintenance and ease of use. See Infant Abduction Prevention brochure
Resident Wandering Alert
An efficient method for detecting and helping to prevent residents in Aged care and Dementia care facilities from wandering. Our wander alert system will sound an alarm at the door, and at the Nurse's/Carer's Station (optionally also to mobile devices through MCP) when the resident enters a prohibited area. The Wander Alert system can also be used to automatically lock doors that lead to restricted areas in the Aged Care facility or other facility or hospital. Resident Wandering Alert can also double as a door security alarm system at night (or at a specified time) for added security.
All exits from the safe area are monitored using an "Alarm portal" RFID reader. As soon as an RFID tag comes near an exit, an alarm occurs showing the specific RFID tag, the name of the resident and the location. The alarm signal is transmitted to the Nurse station Alarm panel, and/or connect into your existing Nurse
Call system/ and/or connected to Message Centre Pro. See Residnet Wandering Alert brochure
RFID Asset Tracking
Locating Assets
SEDtag can be used to track the location of any tagged items within an installed system i.e. laptop computers, projectors, medical equipment, IT items, works of art and any other valuable assets or stock. This is an invaluable tool for protecting and managing assets within the workplace.
Unauthorised removal
High value items can be tracked and alarms generated if they are moved without prior authorisation, either entering or leaving a protected area.
Authorised removal
Authorised personnel can identify themselves by password and select an asset which then permits the removal of an asset from an area.
Asset Management
Real time asset management makes the management of high value assets or stock simple to achieve. When networked to a multi-regional warehouse system entire tagged assets or stock lists can be produced.
Reports
Reports can be produced via web held database for real time information on tagged stock and assets allowing management of the assets from remote locations. See Asset Tracking brochure
